FEZ '08 is the beta version of FEZ. This was very different from the final product, as lots of elements had not been implemented and the visual style was quite different[1]:
- Gomez's sprite animation is different from the curent version.
- Geezer is the only other character in this version.
- Instead of Mushrooms, red platforms were used to bounce the player upward.
- Mushrooms were instead used as a warp at the end of a level/zone.
- Golden Cubes and Bits were not implemented yet and instead were replaced with large 'Fez Hats'. These were place-holders until Cubes were implemented.
- The music was also done by a different composer named 6955, as Diasterpeace was yet to be chosen to do the original soundtrack.
